Do Locusts Use Harmonic Resonance to Increase Endurance in Swarms?

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

At least one brilliant theorist believes that there maybe a lot more to the way that Bees and Locusts fly than what we think. In fact Mr. Warren Powers has a theory that they create their own resonance, which helps them stay aloft and do so using far less energy than every considered policy. But how would they be able to deny aerodynamic theory? Well explains Mr. Powers; they are using some additional strategies as he explains in an online think tank.

Warren writes; “Locusts during a swarm over long distances create a harmonic resonance; that is why the swarm can be heard over such distances.”

This has crossed my mind, as crossing the Mediterranian Sea or vast Sahara Desert without anything to eat is quite impressive for those little bugs. I have always wondered how on Earth they do that? Very impressive indeed, but Warren does not stop there as he considers how mankind can benefit from this knowledge to stop the devastation of Locust Plagues.

Warren writes; “My proposal is to disrupt that harmony with man made sound energy by inducing a constructive or destructive tone to the swarm. They fall into the lake as fish food. The same technique needs to be tried with smaller distance swarms across land and crops. I think the sound they make is their ‘ache-lies heel’.”

All good points, nothing you have said bothers me or causes me concern to the point of debate here. Indeed such experimentation should be done and probably in a big way. It will mean big dollars to travel and be set up at the right points in time. Kind of like chasing Tornadoes to get data, unless we grow our own Locusts and then send them into a fizzy and incite the swarm and then use your theories to turn them off again. Once we can control them, they are no longer a threat, however we need also rapid response teams around the world near regions of known swarms to stop them. That almost sounds like a job only the US Military could handle? You know what I mean?

Accelerating Absorption of Membranes in Filtering Systems

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

Some water filtering systems run the fluid thru the systems more than once. For instance at Starbucks, which is a very simple application they actually run the water through the Reverse Osmosis System nine times. This makes the water ultra pure and you can definitely taste the difference in the coffee, most people love it, a few do not, nevertheless it means their product is always consistent no matter what the local water tastes like. So, indeed this works well for them.

Now then what if the water filtration system could do this the first time? Well that would be great for a few reasons, as it saves time, saves wear and tear and it also saves water in the case of Reverse Osmosis Systems. How so you ask? Well when using reverse osmosis systems they generally use three gallons to make one gallon, as the cleaner water is run thru again it takes a little less to make the clean gallon, but what if you could get it all done on the first go around?

I propose using bright laser light to assist in the filtering collection process and perhaps a combination of other waves as well. The light waves and other waves will increase the ionic combo forming of the filtered debris from the water. If the pipes are small and the membranes have holes in them and the light is in the center with holes along the length of the membrane that will allow enough light to assist in the process. This may not be cost affect for a small operation, but it could be very good for a larger one. Consider all this in 2006.

Holographic Projection Glide Paths

Monday, May 25th, 2009

Holographic Technologies are getting closer to becoming reality and soon we can see the data on our computers in 3D, 4D and 5D. We will enjoy Virtual Reality on our 360 X-Box in our living rooms. Military strategists and war fighters can play out the battle in the virtual battlespace in advance and then watch it un-fold in real time. Great, great grandchildren will be about to meet their past ancestors and watch a holographic video. We will communicate in video conferencing with the image of the other people sitting next us, but not actually there. All this is on its way and even more, as the applications are endless indeed.

One application, which has not been mentioned, yet is the potential for pilots to have projected glide paths in front of them as they fly, actually watching their aircraft (full-size) in front of them. All they will have to do is follow the projection and match their aircraft to the angles and speeds of the holographic aircraft ahead. The projection will be set for safest glide path, avoid wake turbulence and be the most fuel-efficient decent. This will make flying easier and become a great training tool for new pilots building hours and their skills.

This will insure a proper downwind to base and base to final approach, with perfect angles, no steep banks and help the pilot land at the perfect speed on the threshold. Additionally these Holographic Projections will be recorded and used for training air traffic controllers and used by flight instructors to watch to make sure the student pilot is coming along fine. The instructor will be able to reduce the scale of the aircraft to 1:24 or 1:48 scale and show student how they did. This can help in training new fighter pilots in the military as well. This can add to the simulator experience. Such technology will come in handy for the NASA SATS Program making general aviation safe as we move more private automobile traffic from our ground transportation infrastructures into the air and help with the Virtual Control Tower Simulation Training Systems to help commercial aviation.

Imagine eliminating wake turbulence accidents by helping pilots avoid wake turbulence, by using net-centric systems inside the aircraft, which will re-project the holographic aircraft in front of them. Good for collision avoidance as well. This will alleviate issues with the 3-minute rule, when it should be extended or when it is not a factor. The increased efficiency will help the traffic flow at the larger airports, moving more aircraft on their way in less time.

The Holographic Technology is almost here and it such advances in science has the potential of literally solving many safety and efficiency issues in aviation in the present period and safety in space in the next period. Think on this.

Constantly endeavour to use promotional videos that give value added info to your consumers – Lots of business people erroneously assume you can merely put any brand of advertisement on a video website, but nothing could be further from reality. Every single video ought to deliver some meaningful information to the desired market, or start topic of talk.

Conduct some degree of market research on the video websites before posting your 1st video – It’s a terrific suggestion to give some considerable time typing your market’s essential keywords into Google, in an endeavour to realise what comparable promotional videos are presently on the World Wide Web. Then make sure you have written down the profile names of the most prominent users in your market. Maybe down the line you can participate in a joint venture or have some sort of cooperation with these businesses.

It is important to take into account that each & every video site has a society built into it – With this in mind you ought to respect the other members and it is recommended that you post positive annotations to your rivals’ videos. Essentially you must be a member of the community, offering feedback, ideas etc. And only then should you think of yourself as being a video marketer & start to promote your very own videos and services.

Commit yourself to producing numerous promotional videos – You ought to have a clear strategy for developing & posting several promotional videos. Otherwise, your video company’s page on the video portals will appear blank if it simply has one solitary video to see. So, assign extra time planning the creation of a sequence of short format promotional videos, instead of one long video.

Internet video marketing is one of the most efficient and quickest methods of advertising at the present time. Get the most value from your online video content through Vidify’s quality video distribution partnerships.

Artificial Brains and AI; Merging of Organic and Silicon Chip

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

Today scientists are growing brain cells of animals in petri dishes and then putting electrodes into them and using the brain cells to do tasks based on stimuli and then move the electrical impulses into other electrodes. Scientists and researchers are also using human and chimpanzees in experiments where by the subject thinks a thought and is able to fire an electrode to more something else on a computer screen.

This is just the beginning and indeed these scientific endeavors will help people see who are blind via optic sensors. Allow people who are deaf to hear thru electro-mechanical devices and vibration sensors and even amputees move limbs wirelessly by thought alone. Very cool stuff and the medical implications are true miracles and marvels of science.

Although a brain transplant has not been done yet, eventually a person whose body is worn out may be able to hook themselves up to a machine which will regulate a steady blood flow to the brain and have electrodes and sensors attached for that brain to communicate with whomever it pleases perhaps thru the Internet? Some religious folks decry such talk, although they should not be so shocked as usually science is about 50 to 100 years behind science fiction and thus give it another 20 years or so and it will all be possible you watch. Consider this in 2006.
