Graduation honor cords
Graduation honor cords are the decorations that are given to students ceremoniously to commemorate their academic achievements after completion of an academic course. The cords may also be known as chords and are awarded to the people who have achieved a certain qualification during a graduation ceremony. In some institutions, it is not mandatory for the graduation gown to be worn so that the cords are worn. These colleges allow students to wear the cords without having to wear the attire. There are other colleges which give the Graduation honor cords only to the students who have an academic achievement and there are other institutions that give the cords to every graduating student after completing the required years of study in the institution.
The graduation honor cords are not easy to achieve because the student should have a good academic record over the period of study. It may be compared to the valedictorian award but the only difference is that the valedictorian award is given to the best performing student more so in high school and the honor cords are given to the bunch of top students. The honor cords can be custom made and the institution can order them in bulk selecting a few to be different for the students who performed best.
